Prior to transferring to the Bar, Paul practised with Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in London and New York, and with Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, where he focused on high-stakes, complex commercial disputes, with a particular concentration in financial services and banking.  Prior to this, he served as a Foreign Law Clerk to Justice Asher Grunis of the Supreme Court of Israel.  He holds degrees from Harvard Law School (LL.M.), the University of Oxford (B.C.L., with Distinction), and the University of Glasgow (LL.B., with First Class Honours), and won numerous merit-based scholarships and prizes throughout the course of his academic career, including the Snell Exhibition at Balliol College and the St. Andrew’s Society of Washington, D.C. scholarship at Harvard Law School.  Paul was admitted as an Attorney in New York in 2009 and as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2017.
