In conjunction with an African consultancy and law firm, Sir William Blair and David Simpson are working on the development of an IFSC, with the support of the African Legal Support Facility.

At the request of the Government, Ali Malek QC and Anthony Pavlovich are helping to promote pro bono work in Kazakhstan, explaining its benefits, and how to encourage lawyers to participate.

3VB through IADRU is the only barristers’ chambers in IDLO’s Investment Support Programme for Least Developed Countries.

Sir Ross Cranston assisted Ghana’s commercial judiciary in a two day workshop held in Accra and opened by the Chief Justice.

Carlos Carvalho spoke on ADR at a seminar for Brazilian judges visiting London on ‘reducing backlog and tackling delay’ in Brazil’s courts.

IADRU provides logistical for this lecture, the inaugural in 2019 being delivered Mr Xiangmin Liu, President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) 2019-2020. News

Lee C Buchheit, a member of IADRU, is engaged on a pro bono basis as a strategic advisor to the Interim Government of Venezuela in connections with the restructuring of Venezuela’s external liabilities. News

Jane Davies Evans (assisted by Carlos Carvalho) prepared a global survey on diversity in construction disputes.  JDE has spoken at international DRBF and GAR Live events on the initial findings.  The survey had the support of ICCA, the ICC, the IBA, the CIArb, the DRBF, Women in Arbitration, various international Societies of Construction Law, the ABA etc.  The formal release will occur shortly.

With support from Michael Blair QC (Hon), IADRU through Carlos Carvalho handled successful applications for rights of audience before the AIFC Court.

Sir William Blair is a member of the Ethics Committee of Digital Catapult’s AI Machine Intelligence Garage, chaired by Professor Luciano Floridi of the University of Oxford.

Jane Davies Evans is a member of the steering committee of the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge.
