Insurance
and Reinsurance
Members
of chambers are instructed by leading specialist solicitors
in relation to most major market disputes or problems, currently
including: pensions mis-selling, film finance, the personal
accident spiral, KWELM, Unicover, HIH, the Independent, the
Equitable Life, 9/11 and the Lloyd's Central Fund.
They act for insureds, insurers, reinsurers and brokers and
deal with the full range of insurance law issues, including
the construction of policies, coverage defences, notification
problems, the avoidance of policies for non-disclosure or
misrepresentation and questions of illegality or fraud. Members
of Chambers have considerable experience in advising and acting
for regulatory and statutory compensation authorities.
While much of this work is court-related, members of Chambers
also act in arbitrations and assist in attempts to resolve
disputes through ADR.
