Insolvency
Members
of chambers act regularly in, and give advice on, corporate
and personal insolvency matters on behalf of insolvency practitioners
and persons affected by insolvency. Their work includes all
aspects of liquidation, company administrations, administrative
receiverships and the appointment of Law of Property Act receivers.
High-profile litigation in which members of chambers have
acted includes that generated by the Deposit Protection Board,
the Arrows liquidation and the BCCI liquidation. Recent
cases involving members of chambers include OBG Ltd v Allan
& Stevenson in the Court of Appeal and Phillips
v. Brewin Dolphin in the House of Lords.
