Sandy Phipps Sandy Phipps has worked in the commercial litigation field in various roles since 2004.


Prior to coming to the Bar in 2009, he was a litigation solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Gilbert + Tobin in Sydney. His practice during this period included a secondment to the litigation department of Goldman Sachs.


He has also been a judicial assistant to the Commercial List of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. In the academic field he has published in areas including contract, jurisdiction and civil procedure.

 
His current practice reflects this broad commercial experience, with a particular focus on banking, financial services, and civil fraud. He is instructed both as sole advocate and as part of Counsel teams on larger-scale disputes.
