Kate has a general commercial practice, in line with Chambers' profile.
Kate is regularly instructed to appear as sole advocate at interim hearings in the High Court, and at interim and final hearings in the County Courts, with particular emphasis on banking disputes, claims under guarantees, commercial contractual disputes and debt claims. Kate also undertakes a variety of written work, including drafting pleadings and providing written advice on all areas of general commercial law.
Kate is also instructed to appear as junior counsel in more complex High Court matters.
Before coming to the Bar, Kate worked for Kenneth Rokison QC as his assistant, and gained considerable experience in the procedural aspects of international commercial arbitrations (both ad hoc and those conducted under the auspices of arbitral institutions such as the ICC, the LCIA and the LMAA).
During pupillage, Kate assisted her pupil supervisors (Catherine Gibaud, Matthew Parker and Ian Wilson) and other senior members of Chambers with a range of matters. She gained experience across the breadth of general commercial law, including in the specialist fields of banking, financial services, professional negligence, civil fraud, insolvency and insurance.
