Christopher has a general commercial practice, in line with Chambers' profile. He has experience of a broad range of work, much of it with an international dimension, including banking, financial services, insurance, civil fraud, professional negligence, conflict of laws, insolvency, trusts and company law.
Christopher works both as part of a team on major commercial disputes and as a sole advocate on smaller matters.
Current or recent large-scale instructions include defending a misrepresentation claim against Merrill Lynch in relation to a CDO (led by Ewan McQuater QC); acting for Co-Op Bank in a professional negligence claim against a solicitors firm (led by Andrew Fletcher QC); and directors disqualification proceedings arising out of a major fraud (led by Ewan McQuater QC). Christopher appears unled on multi-day trials and appeals in the Court of Appeal, High Court and County Court, as well as interim applications (including freezing injunctions) and insolvency matters.
